TOP 7 cases of walking excursions and tourist quest routes FreeGen GO

Hello everyone! Today, we want to tell you about our quests. Let’s take a look at one of them — the virtual tour "Lavra in Your Smartphone."

This project has become one of the most successful at Freegen GO. The idea behind it is to bring history to life, especially the history of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. The project covers three key periods in Ukrainian history: the Kievan Rus period (11th-14th century), the Lithuanian-Cossack era (15th-18th century), and the Modern period (19th-20th century).

During each of these periods, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was the heart and spiritual center of Ukraine, playing an essential role not only for Kyiv but for the entire country. We’ve created 12 virtual 3D guides — historical figures from different eras who help users immerse themselves in history through panoramas, 3D objects, and audio guides.

But the highlight of this project is that you can take the quest not only at the Lavra but from anywhere in the world! All you need is a smartphone.

What makes it even more special is that the quest is designed for everyone. It includes different difficulty levels and takes into account the physical abilities of each user. Tasks vary, from interactive questions and quizzes to 3D hints from historical figures.

So, if you want to learn more about the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and feel like part of its history — this quest is for you!

Benefits for participants:

This project offers numerous benefits for various categories of people. First, locals and tourists get a completely new way to interact with historical heritage. Now, they can not only view landmarks but actively immerse themselves in history through technology.

This is especially appealing to young people, who are often looking for new ways to discover the world. Thanks to gamification and modern technologies, history becomes both exciting and accessible to new generations.

For global users, this is a real opportunity to engage with Ukraine’s cultural heritage, regardless of where they are located. Technology allows everyone to become part of this unique history, even if they are thousands of kilometers away from Kyiv.

Case 2: Historical Educational Quest

This time, we organized a city historical quest on the grounds of the Ostroh Princes' Castle, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Policy and Resources of the Starokostiantyniv Region. The quest was called: "I am a citizen of a city that stands the test of time, its future is in my hands!"

This project united hundreds of participants around the idea of exploring important historical sites. Quest participants completed interactive tasks, found digital artifacts in augmented reality, and uncovered secrets tied to significant historical events.

The competition format, where the best received valuable prizes, was especially exciting. This is a great example of how gamification can engage young people in learning about history and culture.

This quest not only helped participants learn more about their city and its history but also turned into a real celebration for everyone involved.

Case 3: "Park Natalka"

In Kyiv’s parks, we’ve created unique quest routes that combine sports with the discovery of historical places or the completion of virtual missions. This is especially interesting for those who want to combine outdoor activities with learning about history.

In these quests, users overcome various obstacles, take quizzes, and even "earn" in-game currency by doing physical exercises. This is particularly popular among families, students, and even kids at summer camps.

Children are often drawn to video games, but FreeGen GO offers not just a game — it provides an exciting adventure that motivates them to move. Virtual quests include tasks that require physical activity: from walking and running to searching for real objects in the city or nature. In this way, even an ordinary walk turns into an engaging game with physical activity!

Case 4: The "FunUp" Project

Now, let’s talk about another project of ours — "FunUp". This initiative motivates children to engage in physical exercise through mini-games and rewards. The tasks in the interactive missions help children easily absorb material, making this project perfect for schools and summer camps.

But that’s not all! There’s also an audio-guided route that turns morning jogs into an exciting adventure. It’s a fantastic way to make physical activity fun and engaging for kids!

Case 5
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey through time and space? Thanks to modern augmented reality technologies and 3D models, this is now possible!

Imagine being in the heart of ancient Kyiv and, with the help of your device, seeing how the Desyatynna Church looked during its prime. Or strolling through the old streets, passing by the Murovets' checkpoint or the Pirogov Museum. All these places and characters come to life on your screen. As you complete various tasks, you receive new information about the historical significance of these sites. It's not just a quest; it's a real immersion into history!

Case 6
Or maybe you want to take a quest through the ancient city of Lviv or the vast metropolis of Istanbul? In each city, intriguing puzzles await you, revealing new facts about its history, cultural traditions, and architectural landmarks. At every location, you’ll search for clues, interact with historical objects, and even learn about ancient legends that come to life before your eyes.

And that's not all! The FreeGen GO team creates unique quest routes for 10 key locations in the biggest tourist cities of Ukraine. Amid today's challenges, such as the war, when physical tourism is limited, FreeGen GO allows you to visit even the most inaccessible places. You can explore battle sites, like Moshchun, where one of the major battles for Kyiv took place. Examine destroyed weapons, witness cities that no longer exist, and discover lost artifacts.

With augmented reality, you can experience these locations in their historical context, relive significant events from the past, or learn more about mysterious legends.

Case 7
And let’s not forget about the international project “Touch Ukraine”. This unique initiative gives foreigners the chance to feel the spirit of Ukraine through virtual journeys in the central parks of European cities — Lisbon, Paris, Istanbul, and many others. Thanks to augmented reality, 3D models of Ukrainian symbols and historical landmarks, everyone can explore Ukrainian culture without leaving their country.

This project has already expanded to over 10 countries and attracted around 15,000 foreign users. It also offers incredible opportunities for people with disabilities, allowing them to travel the world and explore new places, all from the comfort of their homes.

With “Touch Ukraine” and FreeGen GO, you can experience real adventures, connect with history, and discover new horizons, not just by traveling, but also by learning about the unique aspects of cities and cultures. Virtual tourism has become accessible to anyone eager to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of history, traditions, and interactive quests.

Conclusion
In conclusion, thanks to innovative projects like FreeGen GO and "Touch Ukraine", time and space travel have become available to everyone. You can not only discover new places but also dive into their history, cultural traditions, and legends, without even leaving your home. Modern technologies open up endless possibilities, and virtual tourism is not just a way to explore the world, but also an opportunity to experience thrilling adventures and gain fresh insights. So don't wait — start exploring and journeying to the most exciting corners of Ukraine and the world, right now!
